I am going on a fly in fishing trip near Lake Nipigon in Ontario Canada, it is about 100 miles north of Thunder Bay. There is a cabin on the lake, and I was going to bring my hammock to sleep in, mainly because of comfort, and the cabin really only sleeps 4.. but the other guys who aren't backpackers and aren't from there are concerned about Bears.

I have never been there, or packed anywhere in Canada for that matter, but it is my understanding that the bears are similar to Northern Wi, or Minnisota. Few and far between, black bear mostly, and the guide company is saying that they aren't a problem. So I am thinking it's like anywhere else and just follow the rules...

Anyone have any experience with this area? It is actually at the southern tip of Brennan Lake, and going in May if that matters.

Thanks for your help!
