    My setup for 45F

I took my daughter camping at Oak Mountain State Park this weekend and tried out my 50F hammock setup. The idea was to sleep cheap and warm. The results? Here's a poorly-made video of the setup. Please forgive the shaky camera work.

It worked pretty well. Got down to 45F. No condensation and I stayed warm until 6am when the wind picked up a bit).

You need to make the video public. Right now it's private.

Looks like a nice setup! Might recommend some tree huggers for the hammock, though. Protect the trees and maybe prevent the attention of the law in some parts. Just made some tonight from some lightweight ratchet straps that weigh in at an ounce a piece. $10 for four - can't beat that.

    Thanks for the vid!

Thanks for the advice. I do have tree huggers, but my son took them (along with my preferred GT Skeeter Beater Pro and my Hennessey Hex Tarp) to BSA Florida Sea Base this week. This was the first time I actually used the climbing rope. Probably should have put some sticks between the rope and the trees to protect them.

nice setup...but like SN said tree huggers are a must ...you don't want to hurt the trees
also get rid of the paracord...when it gets wet it will stretch on you and get heavy so something to think about you can use Mason line from any hardware store $4 for 150 feet it's pretty cheap or what i like to use is Speer no tangle line ...

other then that i like it ...i had a pad like that back in the day
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

More great suggestions. My Hennessey Hex tarp has built-in guy lines, so stretching isn't a problem there.

Maybe I can save my pennies and get one of those high-fallootin' underquilts that everyone keeps talking about.
