KK- I understand what you are saying, and your frustration is clear. There are some here who feel fanatically about the blackbird or the traveler or whatever, but this IS the Warbonnet forum.
I think there are those in HH forum who are just as enthusiastic about the Hennessy products. However, I would agree that it is not necessary to denigrate one product in order to express your preference for another. Let's face it, you don't sell that many units if you don't have a good and desirable product.
I think the way that Raul Perez compared the two manufacturers was fair and honest. He pointed out the pros and cons of each product and expressed his preference. I think he supported his reasoning very well and repeatedly mentioned that his preference was a personal preference.
That is the sort of constructive criticism which brought me to this board.
i've investigated the forums...studied the videos...thank you Raul, ALL HF members, and Shugie for your awesome noob series!!
i have ordered a warbonnet SL hammock and BMJ tarp - omigoodness i have EVOLVED.
kind wishes to all - looking forward to hanging in cleanliness (the PA mud-season is ON!) and comfort! very excited! i have a hubba tent...an OR bivy...both are fantastic depending on conditions, but i'm ready to move up.

I bought the HH Asym Exped for my first hammock.
Had ZQ do the zipper mod, modified the suspension with straps and descending rings, and bought a MacCat Deluxe tarp.
The HH was a very comfortble hammock, but then, I bought a WBBB for my wife and took it for a test run.
After one night, I knew I would not be sleeping in the Hennessy again. Bought another Blackbird for me and sold the HH.
End of story.

I own both a HH EULA (with zipper mod) and a WBBB 1.1 dl. I enjoy both setups, wiht the HH allowing me to go netless thanks to 2QZQ's excellent work. The thing I like most about the BB is the zipper placement. With my HH, I am straddling the side tie out each time I get into or out of the hammock, whereas with the BB I lift it out of the way. In the middle of the night, nature calls can be a little more tricky if I forget the tie out line.
