Help finding kids hammock pics and plans

My mom wants to make a hammock for my 3 yo nephew. He likes mine
Over the years I've seen some great pics of hammocks people have made for their kids but I'm horrible at searching this forum. If anyone can post some links I would appreciate it. Also I'm looking for a pattern for my mom to follow. She is a great sewer so I know she can do it without any trouble.
    Thanks in advance!

"Ed Speer recommends making the finished hammock have a distance between the knots of the user's height plus two feet. I'm 70" tall, so my hammock should be 94" between the knots...so I should cut my material 94" + hem allowance + allowance for whipping. Rather than trying to be exact, though, I usually just pick a length and not worry about exact lengths. I've found that 9.5' (114") is a good starting length for me. Then I hem it, use about 6" on each end for whipping, then have more than the recommended 2' left over. I like that extra length...it makes the hammock more comfortable so I'm willing to trade it for the weight. (Just make sure your tarp is long enough to cover the hammock.)"

He also has full directions for whipping, suspension, etc.

The gathered end hammock can be made in almost any length to suit the need. I've made smaller ones for my nephews.

Given how fast kids grow, I'd make a pre-teen sized hammock. My daughter is 12 and her's began it's life as a 9' piece of fabric. She loves it. I made a smaller version of HC4U's DIY Hennessey for my son... 6 months later darn kid grew like a foot so I sold it here.

His hammock turned out great, and was surprisingly easy to make.

The instructions are in a sticky here:

If I had to do it again, I'd probably use Knotty's instructions for the ends, though...

Oh, and Nylon ripstop isn't required. I've made a few Kid-sized hammocks out of Polyester with great results (and lower cost, more color options, etc.)

Here's another good thread from PapaSmurf:

    The little buggers grow quick

The little buggers grow quick ... too quick.

I made my 12 and 13 year old daughters' hammocks "full size" because they are taller than and almost as tall as my wife. For my two younger daughters, I added growing room to the height plus two feet plan due to the fact that they grow so quickly.

PS: If you stop feeding them, they get cranky.
