    My pack was just under 20 pounds, with all kinds of extra goodies, food and a mess kit for two... before I added 4L of water. The new Insulated Hydration Molly Mac Packs worked very well! Thing1 and I carried 6L between us, and used almost all of it.

    I think I'll go back to using two bottles and getting water along the trail now.

    ...just found out that Baron, brother of Backtrack, who organized this hang, is the percussionist at the church where Monica, who works with Smiling Face, plays the ivories! Small world, if it's extent is Jamestown & Thomasville!

    So where did ya'll start from? Was it the Robbins Branch trailhead? Our scout troop will be there in late March.

    Yeah Mac, Last night at band practice I was telling Monica where I had been and she said, "The doctor I work for Husband makes his own hammock gear and backpacks" I said whats his name? she said "Mac" LOL.... BTW I am in a country band with her and her husband. Oh, enjoyed the trip as well. I hope everyone got full at the classic....

    The Birkheads are a wonderful place for a hammock hang and an enjoyable walk in the woods! Thanks to MacEntyre for arranging the hang! A few pictures are posted on flickr in the Birkhead Mountains Hammock Hang set.
