To my knowledge they're both the same thing except Zing-It it bright yellow while Lash-It it gray.
I've gotten better at working with the Zing-It. It is coated and therefore just a little slippery but you get the hang of it quickly. I use a double-eyed needle that's about 3.5" long for my splicing. A fellow member gave that to me at a group hang to try out and it works well. I've heard a few others using a very thin diameter long piece of copper wire to splice and they've had great results also. For me, the key is to compress the rope toward itself in order to open it up to use it for spicing. Funny, after you splice mason's line or Zing-It, splicing amsteel is a breeze!
