    Sleeping bag around hammock video

Here's a video of a Kelty Lightyear Down 20 degree sleeping bag with a Grand Trunk Nano 7 hammock pulled through the bag, creating an all-in-one cold weather sleeping system. The whole thing stuffs into the tiny compression stuff sack that came with the sleeping bag. Ultra light weight. Simple. No expensive, fiddly top or bottom quilts to mess around with. No pad required.

I'm jealous of you and the others who can make this work. I just can't get to sleep laying down the center of the hammock.

I think the key is to have something fairly large to put under your knees. That way you're in a sort of fetal position while lying on your back.

I weigh 250 lbs and am built like a football player. I sleep on my side and seem to get pretty comfy that way. But everyone has a prefered sleeping position.

This is almost exactly what I do when it's below 30. Same bag and everything. It keeps me warm, but I am not as comfortable since I can't quite achieve a diagonal lay. I deal with it for now, at least until I can afford an underquilt!

    Glad it works for you.

    Exped Wallcreeper as PeaPod.

I sometimes use my LONG size Exped Wallcreeper as a peapod. Works awesome!

Here is a more recent trip i went on with Jackleberry where i used it in conjunction with a JRB top quilt. Again, worked great:
