New member from LA

Lower Alabama that is. I'm fairly new to hammock camping, and got here from my ultra lightweight backpacking obsession. I get a lot of inspiration from ole Shug Emery. I also make a LOT of my own gear, like cooking gear, and my first hammock is actually one I made, that weighs in at 13 oz. not including the tarp. I'm still working on my tarp design, which will probably be a simple 12' x 10' catenary cut tarp. I received a gently used Kenmore Model 48 sewing machine from my wife's granny about a year ago, and that's what I sew everything on.

Welcome, from Gadsden. I think some of the Alabama guys are having a hang this weekend at Turnipseed Camp near Cheaha.
