    REI Shopping List?

Heading up to REI today to get some rope/cords for guy lines, etc Led me to ask - What else you guys think every Hanger should have? Stoves, hydration, etc are givens. I mean more along the lines of size # biners, s-biners, etc.

Any suggestions? Might as well get them all in one stop. :P

They had some nice aluminum toggles when I went. Wish I would have grabbed some.

Hydration is a must while on multi-day hikes and stoves you can make yourself or I would personally go with a small cottage industry before I bought a stove at REI. It really depends on what gear you have already though.

Knot bone and small figure 9 for rigging tarp ridge line.
Do you have stakes for those lines?
I like a one LED light clipped to my ridge line. I think it is called a Photon.

MYHO the #1 best piece of REI gear is this

    http://www.rei.com/product/781529

its a long spoon for FBF keeping your hand clean and being able to reach the bottom with out having to insert your whole hand in the bag and keeping the zip lock top intact instead of having to split the sides and roll it back. Its a great product I have 2

We were at REI the other night. We went straight to the clearance section looking for clothes/jackets for me and hamhocker. I have decided to wait until I get my REI dividend and the 20% off coupon. Lots more bang for the buck then

You can also get figure 9's and s-biners at Harbor Freight and Home Depot.

I would say little plastic bottles and platypus/nalgene/hydration bladders are tops on my list for my next visit to REI. It's also fun looking at the camp games for kids (gives me good ideas for DIY games).

Thanks guys! Great advice, as always!

I might just try Shane's method (props to TheOracle) since I'm already ordering some Amsteel Black and some Zing-It from http://www.reddenmarine.com. Gotta support HF

Thanks again everyone! Off to harass the REI staffers!

For those who don't know, you get 5% off your entire order (not just rope) at Redden when you use the promo code hammockforum.
