I'm headed to Monongahela National Forest in about 10 days...even though I'll be tenting it with the girl. I know, I know, I haven't converted her to the light side yet.

Pic will be posted...might have to photoshop a hammock in there.

Grand Canyon below the rim, away from the tour buses. Of course that could be said for Yellowstone and Yosemite as well.

For NP I love the Smokies. In part because I've been going there for over 50 years, & partly,,,, well, just because, so there

As to other parks, I'm seriously in love with the Red River Gorge. But for a week long trip you would have to walk Very S L O W L Y. Of course you could do the STT from south in Daniel Boone Nat forest & then loop around........

For me being out in the woods almost anywhere is Great! If I can go for a week straight, that's even better. I would love to do the Grand canyons & then the Heyduke trail, except for 2 problems, I don't do heat very well, & I ain't gonna sleep on the ground!

I gotta go with Grand Teton NP as my #1, fantastic mountain range... Then RMNP just because I know it like the back of my hand, must have over 100 days in the back country of RMNP... Then anything in UTAH... Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands, Archs, etc... like being on Mars...

So many parks, so little time...

I can only say that I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time in and enjoy some and envious of those who have had the chance to enjoy the ones I've not yet been to.

    Happy Trails to all...

ps- Death Valley's beauty is seldom mentioned, but it is majestic, cobbler makes every trip better

    I love Glacier!

But if Bryce Canyon had some longer trails it would be a close call.
