    Anyone using old KAQ

Is anyone still using the older KAQ. I'm talking original here people, bought in 06. Made buy Patrick McKenna (not NCPatrick). With Polargaurd 3D insulation. I am finding that the polargaurd isn't getting me down to the temps it used to. Brand new I got it down to 34 but now I was freezing at 48. Anyone have experience with polargaurd or has that gone out and climashield replaced it as a better insulation?
The quilt still looks brand new. Construction is great and I have taken care of it I just think the insulation is giving up on me.

    Was it stored compressed?

BTW, it was Patrick that made those, not NCPatrick. Eventually the KAQ's were made by BlackBishop, then MrPrez, and now pgibson.

Not compressed as much as not laid out flat. I had it in the mesh laundry bag it cam with in a storage closet. The shelf it was on was large enough to store two rolled up Coleman sleeping bags, its a good size space but maybe not enough?

I've never heard of Polarguard losing it's properties so quickly when stored uncompressed. And stored loosely inside a mesh bag sounds reasonable.

Is there loss of loft or thickness compared to when it was new? That should be very telling.

Feeling 'cold' at a higher temp can have a lot of variables (acclimation to the temps, wind, moisture, how much you ate, etc). Maybe your body wasn't producing as much heat during your cold night.

I really hadn't laid it out and measured. (slapping self on head) I will lay it down tonight. Got it hanging on a door now.
