Anyone use an adjustable (whoopie sling) ridgeline as a fixed? I have had fixed on my other 2 hammocks but my new one I ended up with an amsteel whoopie sling by chance. I plan to use it as a fixed ridgeline once I find my sweet spot and just leave it. Anyone had issues with slippage?

I've never had slippage with my UCRs/ridgeline. Once adjusted for me I never move them. The reason I stick with adjustable is because I always have multiple hammocks and I am always trying to convert people. I like to be able to try to help them find their sweet spot. I can reset once I'm back in the hammock.

I use a UCR SRL made out of 1.75mm zing-it and have no issues with slipping. I did put a slippery half hitch right at the bury just in case.

    Thanks.
I've only ever had a fixed line ridgeline. I have a DIY hammock wth whoopie slings which I love for adjustability. once you get the ridgeline you want I don't find a need to adjust it.

Thank you Caminante, the slippery half hitch sounds like a good idea, I will be doing that with mine.

My original setup had a whoopie sling ridgeline. I didn't think that I moved it that often or that much. I needed a piece of amsteel for another project so I converted the whoopie to a long dogbone at the length that I had always had it. As a result, I've found that depending on how I feel, being able to adjust a few inches makes the difference between comfortable and AAAhhhhh. I tried a UCR and had it let me down when I slid a ridgeline organizer into it (just a little too easy to dislodge for me.) From now on, all of my hammocks are going to have adjustable whoopie style ridgelines that have 4-5" of adjustment on either side of the magic 83%.
