Welcome!
You are very close to the Appalachian Trail. Great hiking, tons of hangin' area!
Hey man,
Welcome from a fellow Va. hanger. There is a hang in PA end of April, the MAHHA, at Pine Grove Furnace state park. Not sure of anything closer that has been organized yet but stay tuned. Oh and Trail Days in Damascus Va. I think thats late May or so.

Welcome from another Valley resident. The park and the AT are awesome. You are also really close to Massanutten and there is some nice hiking north of the resort. Just grab a trail map for the park and enjoy the next couple of years of hiking :-)
Howdy garethkerlin, and welcome.
I mapped your location and realize that you are in a great place for hanging.
Neat valley you are in. I flew up there a bit over a decade ago to watch my brother play basketball at Bridgewater. Coming over Shenandoah national park was nerve wracking. I've never like flying small planes over mountains in the dark. I always end up erring on the side of caution and getting extra altitude to be sure I don't inadvertently hit something.
That required a steep descent in to the airport just up the road from you.
Landed at Shenandoah Valley Regional to refuel before hopping over to Bridgewater Airpark to park the plane.
I told my wife that we would have to come back some time and explore the area and haven't made it back yet.
Maybe this summer...
