    Great concept great thread

A big thank-you to HangNout! This zipperless bugnet thread has been a great solution for so many of us DIYers here on HF.

Many of us can immediately see the potential for our own hammock projects! I am now working with a version of this design on my FatPad bridge, and loving it. Awesome contribution from HangNout!

    I'm loving my bugnet

Thanks for the great pics and info. I put a similar (plagerized) but net on my hammock and really like. I hate the sound of zippers in the night.

Maybe add a little string or strap to the center of each bug net ridgeline to help easily pull the side down for entry/exit.

See the really crude drawing attached for clarification.

I haven't tried this yet, but it might work.
Has anyone tried this yet? I like the idea, but I can't for the life of me imagine how you can pull the overlapped bugnet side closed (or, over the ridgeline anyway.) You won't be able to get at that side once the first side is pulled closed *confused*

In any case, have we had any breakthroughs that will help me avoid a top cover. We've got pillow case mod, ridgeline mosq tube..... What's working for people? I want to be able to see the sun and moon, but will begin making a top cover solution soon if I can't figure out a better way..... Perhaps, a little DIY AsWeGo is in order....

I am going to make one of this since I got me a Thread injector(early B-Day present)

I was thinking that I could also make two different top caps one from organza for summer
and also make a longer one as a weather cover similar to what Clark hammocks have

I was thinking that I coul make it long enough to cover the hammock and you could just lift it to get out after you lower the bug net or it could be used without the bug net

what material would be good for this

I am New to sewing my own gear, but have alot of ideas just like to have input from the DIY pros
"HANGING OUT" has taken on a whole NEW MEANING

It just needs to be strong enough to hold the netting up.

    3/32" works well

1/8" will work but is heavier

Anyone have any pics of your end of the hammock... I am trying to make a whipped end and I'm having a hard time seeing the way the netting ends so that its not in the whipping... Or should I just do an eno style and be done with it... I was just hoping to leave my options open with this hammock to let me play with it...
