    Question Backpacking Seattle WA Area

Many years ago I did a trip in the Goat Rocks Wilderness area. It was one of my all time favorites. The place was awesome. Surrounded by three beautiful mountains was breathtaking. So this year want to do a similar trip with my son. He's 14 and pretty fit. My criteria is to go for 5 days, four nights, 15-20 miles, stay south of Seattle, side trips are cool, and of course do a loop if possible. I don't wish to have any designated camp site, only wilderness camping. I was hoping someone could share some of the places they have been.
    Thanks

I haven't hiked up there, but there's a lot of good folks over at www.nwhikers.net that would be happy to help you out.

Section J of the Wa section PCT Is outstanding. It goes from Stevens Pass to Snoqaumie. I think is one the most beautiful parts of the WA PCT. It is about 74 miles or so and could easily be done in 5 days at the 15-20 mile pace mention.

If I was to do it all over again I would plan on spending about 3 whole days at Spectacle lake, still to this day that lake sticks out so vividly in my mind. I think you can loop into it as well, if your not wanting to do a whole section.

Keep us posted, with your thoughts.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.
