I have to say that I didn't really like the bishop bag method too much. Tried a set of hennessy snake skins with my hammock (WBBB) and it worked fine, but I like simple and didn't want to deal with a separate UQ. Decided to make a "python" (fat snake, right?) out of some extra sil nylon that I had. Basically just made a tube with a cinch tie on both ends the same length as my hammock. Lets me store my hammock and UQ already rigged up in waterproof goodness. When I set up, I don't worry about it touching the ground. Just get the hammock straps set up, tension as needed and remove the skin - voila, instant setup.
Plus, lets me store it on the outside of my pack

Hey man, thanks for the help. Being new and all, the info and options can be a little overwhelming. Figured I'd pick the brains of all ya'll with experience while I wait for my rig to be delivered.
I'm looking at a set up to manage my tarp a little better (SF) and think I'm going to go the snake skins route.
Probably because it's what I'm used to coming from HH to the WBBB. It's always been an easy ans efficient system, and one I'm used to.
I love the fact that i can set up quick in the rain with them, or have the tarp tucked away and out of the way during those nice sunny days when basecamping.
I use diy snakeskins w/continuous ridgelines.
I can leave the tarp up inside the skins until it rains, even in windy conditions. And it doesnt impact my view!

no opti i don't use a continuous ridgeline so i have no idea how it would work. sorry
Made my own snakeskins .... love them! I can have my tarp strung up between two trees ready to go if needed. Only takes a couple of moments to pull them back and stake the tarp. They are made of bug-net mesh and weigh very little.
I have pitched in some strong winds and by being able to control the tarp by doing one half at a time was really helpful.

I use Snake Skins on my tarp with a continuous ridgeline! Love the set-up keep it wrapped up and in a side pocket on pack ready to deploy!
