Mine never has, but like I said I keep my tarp in snake skins so I don't know what would happen if I was to just shove it in a stuff sack, but getting it unraveled would probably be fairly easy!

I have. Works great - no tangles. Really the only way to do it and keep the tarp stowed in the stuffsack. If you use 2 separate ridgelines (one cord tied to each end) you can't keep the ridgeline strung and still stow the tarp when not needed.

My .02 cents on the cheapest (heck, you may even have an extra stuffsack in the gear closet) and easiest (no sew) method of pseudosnakeskin keeping the tarp strung up but out of the way... I'm not biased or anything

I got my HH snake skins for my BMJ & SF at Imaginegear.com. They were a little cheaper. I read on here to get the #4, but if you need #2 or #3 they still show them for sale.

What size works best with the BMJ? Amazon still has the #2's and #3's but there are no dimensions listed for any of them. Looks like they are for putting the entire HH, thought they might be too big for just a tarp.

Mountaingoat made me some snakeskins out of netting. Perhaps if you ask her nicely, she might for you too. The price was comparable or cheaper than ordering HH snakeskins. Really nicely done too.

Yeah, she sent me a message offering to make some for me. I prefer to have the netting so I think I will take her up on that offer.

The HH #4's work just fine for my BMJ ... but you could probably use #3's too for an even more slender fit. Would definitely not go #2 as tighter fit isn't necessarily a good thing when pulling skins on/off.

I also respectfully disagree with those who forgo the skins for a stuff sack. For me they're like backpack hipbelt pockets, you don't NEED them, but they sure do come in handy. Even on a sunny day I'll string the tarp up knowing I can deploy it in seconds if needed. While skinned, the tarp is completely out of the way and I can still see the stars at night. Makes it easier to pack up too. Honestly, it's one of my favorite "accessories". To each their own I guess.

She is very nice and does great work. I have had her make me a couple of things and I like them a lot.
