I've searched and didn't find anything on the subject.
Are snakeskins for a BMJ available anywhere other than DIY? I can't sew to save my life.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I think they only make them in size #4 now, but they're just about perfect for the WB BMJ. I love mine.

I'll have to check those out, sounds like a good way to set-up for quick deployment.
I'm not set on snakeskins, just the only system I've seen.
I appreciate ya
I use a Just Jeff inspired stuffsack with a hole in the bottom. Run your ridgeline through the hole and out the opening. Set your stakes, now shove your tarp back in the bag leaving the ridgeline still strung. Cinch the stuffsack up.
If it starts raining, open your stuffsack and unfurl your tarp and your stakes are already set.
Kind of a similar idea to snakeskins.
The Hennessey ones should work just fine if you are dead set on them though.
I'm a noob, well I guess not even a noob as don't even have my hammock yet. Ordered a BB 2 weeks ago and they are backordered. So I'm just trying to figure out what set-up will work best for me. No too worried about the weight of a few ounces, but I for sure don't need to spend anymore money on stuff I might not use or like.
Thanks for the input, think I will keep it simple
I use Wags' stuffsack setup but don't even bother with the guyout tie up setup. Just jam it back in the stuffsack when not in use and deploy when needed.
So you are basically turning the stuff sack into a bishop bag?
I have to say that I didn't really like the bishop bag method too much. Tried a set of hennessy snake skins with my hammock (WBBB) and it worked fine, but I like simple and didn't want to deal with a separate UQ. Decided to make a "python" (fat snake, right?) out of some extra sil nylon that I had. Basically just made a tube with a cinch tie on both ends the same length as my hammock. Lets me store my hammock and UQ already rigged up in waterproof goodness. When I set up, I don't worry about it touching the ground. Just get the hammock straps set up, tension as needed and remove the skin - voila, instant setup.
Plus, lets me store it on the outside of my pack
