    Durability of ZPacks Tarps

Am looking at buying one of ZPacks Cuben Fiber tarps and wanted to check and see if anyone has any issues with them. I've purchased stuff from Joe in the past, as well as sharing emails with questions, and his service and gear have always been top-rate. I guess that with the material being so new, I was just wondering if there have been any seam failure issues, etc.

I guess it is more a question about the durability of CF seams, but since folks come up with different connection options, wanted to see if there were any issues.

Really loving the ideal of the CF weight .

    Thanks,

    SN

I use mine last month on the Roan Mountain Hang in 40 mph winds. I was very pleased with how well it held up.

Cant speak for them now but have one on the way. It was one of those toys I just had to have to try out. I have not heard of any failures yet and I hope I am not the first one to share of any. I am confident with a little care I wont be.

the seam looks fine on mine. joe has been working with cuben (albeit unadvertised) for about two years!
i use a structural ridgeline (tarp is Not catenary) with Zing-It and prusiks on the tarp ties. this drastically reduces the force applied to the cuben and also makes tweaking the setup a bit easier. here's a peek at the peak:

    Te-We,

Very nice. So, your ridgeline seam seems solid? Did you seal your seam?

the ridge of said tarp is flat, not catenary.. so to keep it taught(est) i did run a line under so it supports the entire ridge, then i can pull tight for a nice pitch. this pitch was not even as tight as i could have had it, but was merely strung up to seam seal the tarp. Joe supplies an entire tube of sil-net (you only use maybe 10% of tube) for every tarp order - I have plenty of extra
