I'd love to, though storage space is an issue...

I have much respect for your son for staying outside through the cold night. I respect you as well for letting him use your gear and stand and then taking the time to get his opinion on what it would take to make his night out more comfortable on his next outing. Now, get out there and make yourself another stand so you can have some more bonding time!!!!!!!!

    Thumbs up

===> Just awesome! Neither of you will ever forget the night, and he may just be building a solid character foundation because his Dad put his trust in him!

    Good for him!

He beat my age by about 3 or 4 years for his first night alone in a hammock - but I was 1/2 mile from home in the woods alone (and scared s******s).

I did spend a night alone in an army mountain tent in our backyard at his age - but Mom kept checking on me, so that didn't count.

So tell him that he is now an official member of the Young Solo Hammockeers Fraternity! I will teach him the secret handshake if we ever meet.

What a great young scout you got there. You'er doing something right Dad. Do the other kids want to do the same thing now?
