Finally got to weigh my IX TQ prototype.
heavier than expected at 20.86 oz or 591.5 grams (including the 26.9 gram / 0.96 oz stuff sack)
As awesome as the soft nylon inner shell layer is, I won't be using fabric that heavy again.
After I finished these TQs I found a much thiner liner nylon that would have worked fine and weighed far less. I'm guessing that the liner itself added at least 6 oz, maybe a touch more.

It is still WAY lighter than the 5 lb sleeping bag I had been using as a TQ, though, so I'm happy.

Cool! By the way, what is the new inner fabric you've acquired?

I think it was called something like "nylon liner fabric".
I think it is intended to line things like coats and jackets.

What I've been using feels heavier than the 1.9 oz silnylon I have, so I'm eager to try some of the lighter stuff since I think it was less than the $3/yd that i can get 1.1oz rs for at BWDD.
Although I may just use 1.1rs to eliminate one more type of fabric to keep around.
