My first tarp!

Sorry for the night time pics, but I got her done late, I'm very happy with the result!

It's perched over this for now.

But it'll be perched over an orange and blue Hennessy clone for a friend of mine that just shipped off to Afghanistan recently. I've been looking forward to getting this done for him. He'll have a pretty sweet setup by the time he get's back

I actually just used bias tape, pinched the two ridges together into the bias tape and sewed it all together. I woke up this morning and it was blowing some pretty hard winds, the tarp was still sitting there pretty as you please, with no sign of damage, so it works out nicely. It's the easier way to do the ridge and with it done like this, there is little need to seam seal it. But I'm going to anyway. Plus the ridge seems to pull very tight with it done like this, with no tendency to sag.

On an unrelated note and maybe funny note, I saw your avatar pic and was immediately alarmed. At first look I thought you were kayaking with your little one in the backpack.

On closer look, you are holding hiking poles, obviously on land, with water in the background. Whew!

I guess I've spent too much time on a kayak and have water on my brain.

Haha, I could see how at a glance that could happen lol. Nah, she's not hit the water just yet, but we will be getting her acclimated to boating starting this summer.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It's not perfect, but neither was my first few hammocks. I get better and better every time I make one. I can't wait to see how the next one works out lol.!
