Old HH has 2" web need chich buckle advice

I have a older Safari and I have been looking for any information on 2" cinch buckles or plates. The hammock has great webbing although 2" wide and 12 feet long and I was hopeful to find buckles for it. I checked with AHE and they have only one inch. Anyone out there have a idea?

Yep. As the above said, change the straps.

if its anything like the old Safari I had back in 01 (zippered slit) then definitely change out the straps - they stretched bad enough so that the standard practice was to hang hammock, get in for 10 minutes, get out and tighten the straps and then maybe it would not bottom out during the night

    Replacemrnt question

How did you replace the straps, the 2" straps are sewn right into the hammock and have the ridgeline attached to them also? Splice? Disassemble and rebuild? Some whipping or tying on?

Can you post a picture of what you're talking about? My HH came with rope suspension and 2" Tree Huggers, there was no strapping sewed to anything.

    2 inch straps

These 2 inch straps are sewn in and go through to the inside where they form loops for the ridgeline

Wow, never seen that before. I haven't been around for very long so I haven't really seen the old models. My first thought is to rip the stitches out and rewhip. Hopefully somebody more experienced than I will chime in on this one. Sorry I couln't help more!
