I have a Black Bird Clone. This is the flattest laying BB I have ever seen. This thing is made exactly to the instructions found on the forum by 1022. But mine is Heavy Duty. The original double 1.7 WBBB weighs 2 1/2 pounds with Whoopie Sling Suspension.
This one weighs 3.25 pounds. (You will have to get your own Whoopie Slings or have me make you a Webbing Set with Cinch Buckles for $40). Add six ounces for a Whoopie Sling suspension system.
Why so heavy? The original BB with the 1.7 fabric measures .015 for two layers. This one measures .021 for two layers. It's polyester taffeta.
That's .003 thicker per layer than the 1.7. I am guessing this is 2.2??? 2.4???
I made this to see if I could make one. Some of you have seen it and laid in it, You might ask Canoebie how it laid. The one photo shows the little bungie bags I made to keep the pull outs from tangling. No stuff sack.

Workmanship is very nice. It had very little shoulder squeeze and lays noticeably flatter then my 1.1-1.7 BB. Great hammock for a car camper or larger person. I think Mule is on an ultralight kick

Thanks!!! I don't keep stuff I know I won't use. This is made for someone who car camps or is a big person and needs the extra strength. It is only about 12 ounces more than a double 1.7, but it's 12 ounces I won't want to carry. Now on my Roller Pack, it would be nothing to pack. But I am getting back to packing so light I don't need a roller pack.
