You all got me thinking and heres the ideas I came up with. Why couldn't you make a pair of mocasins out of the thin oware pad, I'm not sure if you would sew these or not though might be able to just glue them up but hey you never know. For slipping issues use barge cement and attach some felt to the soles, thats what they put on the bottom of waders the fly fishing people use to not slip on the rocks.

My wife just stitched them right thru the ccf pad. They are just for light camp walking, nothing serious. I'm sure that if you are rough with them they could break. I ran to my mail box and back with them on in the pouring rain, and they semed to hold up just fine. For 1.2 ounces, I'm not complaining.

Pure, Thanks for the tip on the felt bottoms.

you could glue two thin soles together w/ the straps only going through the top sole.
that way the straps would not be exposed to the ground.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

To make the THONG (sacred sandals as I call them ) I poked a whole thru the ccf pad with scissors, then ran the nylon thru. Then I hand sewed the straps to the bottom of pad. They are just to be worn for relaxing at the camp sites. Not heavy duty walking. I don't like my husband putting his sweaty feet, unsocked into his shoes. It makes a terrible odor that is hard to ignore

Yes this is the way to go.
Draw a shoe pattern around your crocks times two for each foot, then glue the straps between each layer and there you go.

Okay, I think that SOME of yall are interested . In a week we will have extra fabric for tarps available. As it is right now we have 2 Santuary Tarps for sale for $60. When the material comes in then Amanda will start making the 10'X12' Cathedral Tarp $80. She just finished a 9'X9' Tabernacle Tarp $60, that a customer ordered. The Tabernacle is like the old Sportsman Guide (NEO) tarp, except that is is made out of 1.1oz. silnylon. PM Thepreacherswife for orders.

    Thanks,
    Dwight

p.s. You can also order the Sacred Sandals, if you want a pair.

You are getting a Sanctuary Tarp (8'X10'), just in black . Hopefully your sil will come in a few days, and then it will be done.
