    It's nice to see the Bartram Trail and Benton MacKaye Trail available for hikers who want to spread and get off the heavily-used Appalachian Trail for some solitude. Thanks for the good write-up and pics - I miss the Southern Appalachians every spring.

    Just got back from finishing the remaining 80-something miles of the Bartram Trail a few hours ago. I will work on the trip report sometime this weekend. It was a great way to spend spring break.

    Great report Bearpaw. Will be back up into North Georgia myself next month. Looking forward to some better hanging weather. We're already looking at 90 degrees tomorrow.
    Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

    It was 80 when I hiked last Saturday. Then Friday morning, there was a quarter inch of snow on Cheoah Bald. You gotta love the southern Appalachians in Spring.
