It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit
I bought a dozen of almost the same light (same make - 12 LEDs w/ 3 settings) for my webelos den ~ 18 months ago. The boys are now scouts & still use them. I just got in from a camp out & there were 5 boys using them last night. they take 3 AAA batteries & though a little big, they have held up well.
I have a friend who is a fleet mechanic at work that has one, its not working very well at all after a few months but its under harder use with him i suppose.
For a buck its worth a shot but i wouldn't depend on it exclusively out in the field. Plus maybe you can use the head strap for another light if it fails you, the head gear seems nice.
Got one. Thanks for the tip Optimator!

So many trees, so little time...
I got one for my 3 year old niece. They sell it at the Dollarama in Ontario. Mine had a terrible plastic/shipping odour. It took a long while to off-gas. I ended up wiping it down with bleach, and drying in the sun for a few days. It lasted her a while before she broke the mounting bracket.
Local Big Lots store usually has these for $5, so this is a good price. I keep extras in my car, by my bed and for the Scouts that forget lights.
One thing- the straqps do STINK for a while.
Got mine...thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. Got mine too. Even if its junk its worth a buck. Should last at least one night.
I got in on this also. Like Optimator said, for a buck you really cant go wrong. Even as a spare or to pass onto someone else who needs one on the next trip.
Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks Optimator. Picked one up.
