Should've made it a poll! I chose the snap footbox so that I can vent in warmer weather. I haven't heard of anybody having problems with the snaps yet but I'm sure Stormcrow will honor the warranty for something like that.

I don't see there being any prolem with the snaps.. if there were, he wouldn't be using them.

The snaps are the sameas the one that goes around the top part, very small, low profile, very secure when snapped. You wont have an issue keeping these snapped unless you practice karate in your sleep. Also, it cinches up pretty freakin' small. You could shove a T shirt or jacket or what not at the bottom and it would seal it up.

    --edit--

When unsnapping them though, I hold right next to them, they hold strong enough I feel like I'll damage the quilt if I pull willy nilly, almost like rolling the sides away fromeachother rather than pulling them apart

I have the sewn footbox on my Burrow. If I want to vent, I'll just pull out my foot pad, remove my socks, pull my feet out of the footbox, etc. But, to each their own.

The footbox on my Burrow ties together. I didn't want scratchy Omni tape or to worry about snaps that may cause stress on the material. I like my quits to have that blanket option.

Now that sounds like a gr4eat compromise between reducing stress not havine scratchy omni tape and still being able to have an opened footbox. Good thinking
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
