Talking Joined the DIY TQ Club

Finally finished up my first real DIY project. I decided on a TQ for my first project because all I have now is a 20 degree Mummy bag which is obviously overkill for summer temps. So I went with a single layer of 3.3 oz climashield that I ordered through OWF. For my birthday I got 2 pieces of ripstop nylong from Joann's Fabrics to put to good use. The project went pretty good for a first DIY attempt and was a good learning experience and confidence booster.
    On to the PICS!

    Marking out my cuts:

    Both pieces of nylon cut:

    Top side all sewn up:

    Underside all sewn up:

Now what project to tackle next?

Very nice job! Come to think of it, my first DIY project was a climashield quilt.

Hey all, I wanted to send a few shoutouts to this forum. Incredible amount of information and just way too cool. I'm in the midst of making a hammock and tarp setup at the moment that would never have happened without this site.

So, not in order and I'm sure I'll miss someone, but to RamblinRev, Shug, MylesToGo, JustJeff, 1022, JohnSawyer, Warbonnetguy and many others, I just gotta say you Rock and thanks....um, I think. I say, I think, only because ****, all of a sudden I have all kinds of little gear projects popping up that may keep me sitting next to the old thread injector rather than on the bike path. All in, this place is sweet, so thanks guys.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I myself can't wait to get out there and test it out. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks the warmer temps will make their way up to New England so I can test this out.

Redoleary I used the BWDD Summer Top Quilt article to make this. Very easy to follow and tells you everything you need before you begin.
