I am not aware of any snake skins that can be used with a pad (yes too bulky).

I've got a HHULBA and the SS. I have to take the pad out when using my snakeskins. Everything else fits O.K. I just roll the pad up and put it at the bottom of my pack.

I made a single layer IX replacement pad for my SS .... Slides right in the #4 snake skins along with the undercover, Even on my expedition, which is a lot bulkier.

We will see how it performs this year, but it looks very promising.

When you use snake skins, does the hammock fit in the sack it came in?

Normally if I am using snake skins on either my tarp or the hammock, I either just strap the (waterproof) snake skins on the outside of the pack, or stuff the snake skins down inside the back.

Mine fits fine along with my straps in the original stuff sack. It adds a little bit of protection to my Snake Skins. With the investment, all the protection I can get is used.
