    Hangnout's no zip bug net

Hangnout had a post a while back about a new bug net design:
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=29395

I am going to make one with a few mods.

Would it be good to make the net removeable?
You could velcro it where it attaches to the hammock. I wouldn't want to deal with velcro for getting in and out, but it may be OK as a semi-permanent attachment (take it off in cooler months)

    Shoudl the net be removeable?
    If so how?

Have you thought about making it like a tube but with the shockcord thru the top and flap like hangouts? It would just be a big U to fully enclose the hammock and be removeable. I have thought about doing one that way, just haven't had the time yet.

Do you think the ends of the shock cord at the head and foot ends would be anchored enuf? When you pulled down on the shock cord to exit would the end pull toward the center?

i was thinking of uning a channel at each end and running a string thru it so i could cinch it tight around the donught at the end of the hammock. If cinched tight i don't think it could move inward any.

OK I went a different way, but you got me thinking.
    This was my original idea:BugNet2.jpg

Now I have modified it as a detachable tube/shock cord hybrid. BugNetTubeShockHybrid.jpg

    There are pros and cons
The tube hybrid is easier to make and is removeable
but it takes more material to make than the attached shock cord version.

Compared to the traditional tube the hybrid is easier to exit and does not sag in below the hammock in an aesthetically unappealing way.
