amsteel construction?

does amsteel have a "true" core? i have worked with 7/64ths amsteel and know that dosen't have a core, but is there a size where the company starts to supplement the outer woven cover with a (true)core? thinking about making a few loops out of it- thinking that something just under 1/4" would be nice for this project.

There is a double braid called amsteel II, iirc, that uses an amsteel core with an outer cover. But all amsteel blue is 12 strand single braid.

I thought some was 8-strand? But keep in mind, like Sergeant Schultz... "I know nothing!" when it comes to Amsteel.

Whoops... Forgot about the 7/64. Thats 8 strand. Everything above 7/64 is 12 strand.
