    Mahha Spring Hang April 25,26,27

The Mid-Atlantic Hammock Hanger's Association will have its Spring Hang on April 25, 26, 27. I'm sorry that this conflicts with Ed Speer's SEHHA Hang and the date picked was certainly not intentional.

The MAHHA Hang will be located, again, above the shelter at Crampton Gap on the AT in Maryland. This is a very low key event with nothing structured other than a Saturday night BBQ. There is plenty of parking, the shelter is only about a half mile walk to the site, there are plenty of places to hang, water is available at the spring at the shelter or from a faucet across the road from the parking lot. There is a privvy at the shelter and there are also bathrooms in the park across the road from the parking lot. A covered pavilion is located in the park for our Saturday BBQ and as a place to gather if the weather turns really terrible. I will mark the trail from the lot to the site with orange ribbon. The trail is easy to follow and several folks, including NCPatrick and his daughter, Tinkerbell, walked in in the dark.

We had 20+ hangers at the fall hang consisting of inexperienced and very experienced hangers of all ages using many different types of hammocks, both commercial and DIY. It's a great place to have fun and learn. The Jacks have agreed to attend again, and many of us really benefited from their friendly and experienced advice; so, this hang would be a great opportunity for both experienced and novice hangers to attend. We had a large campfire in the Fall and depending on weather, etc, we hope to have another this Spring.

We'll put up directions as we get closer to the time of the hang so, pencil in the dates on your calendars.

Now Maryland, I may just be able to do. Still means going through NYC though. Blah!

Actually, would anyone be able to help shuttle me from the bus terminal in Frederick to the trail head? I'd much rather take the bus all the way down than to drive.

Count me and my 2 boys for this one. Think I'm going to pull them out of school friday early this time to miss the traffic.

Michael, you'll probably start a head count if there is going to be a cookout.
Count me in, and let me know what I can contribute when the time comes.

I am in. This year I will be able to stay longer as long as my mom doesn't decide to get married again. I barely got to meet everyone last year. Tobit as we get closer keep me in mind for a ride. You can take the bus to Lancaster PA and if our itineraries match I will gladly give you a ride.

    Great!!!

Count JRB in.... May have some Trail Days sneak previews of new stuff

We will not be bringing all the extra displays as we may hike in from the North end of SNP schedules permitting... If anyone else is interested in a hike in of this nature (5-6 days) please let us know by PM.... or a key swap hike of the same terrain, easy logistics...

    Thanks for coordinating again, Qpens.

I'll keep this on my radar, way too early to tell.

Although maybe I should organize a third hangout in a different area for the same weekend.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
