Um... yes. That is true. Mine had the alpine upgrade. I'd have to go to Ray's site to refresh my memory as to what that entails, but it is warm (used it at Mt. Rogers).

Wish I knew how difficult it was to sew one of his quilts.

My understanding from other HF members who have one is that they're not terribly difficult to sew at all. I'm considering one also after Ray and Jenny get back from their latest adventure next month. Hope I can get one in olive or black.

Depends on your sewing experience. I think it's a good starter project. His instructions leave a bit to be desired at the end (finishing stages). But just ask here if you have any questions.

Take your time, just like you would with any other project. Keep it fun, etc.

So only that rayway quilt for overquilt with the B1 on bottom? Although after seeing the B1, I think it probably stores and releases heat. That is a serious quilt!

I think mine was $112.00 for the kit, it was a deluxe (all the bells and whistles) with the alpine upgrade. hth.

Yep, I like being very warm when I sleep. I can always stick my feet out or throw a cover off to cool down, but if there's no heat there's nothing to do but lie there and shiver -- or get up. To each their own though. HYOH, and all that...

That's pretty impressive for a top quilt, NCP. I've been admiring the Ray-Way quilt since I saw yours in Hot Springs last April. As soon as it's in the budget, I'm going to get a kit with the alpine upgrade, for sure.
