*tap* *tap* Is this thing on?

Wow. Rarely have i ever felt at home in a forum as I do here. I've been snooping around for a few weeks on and off, but I've signed up now and I'll be purchasing my first hammock tomorrow (WB).

I am a transplant in Minneapolis from the west coast (Berkeley), and though I am not completely happy about the winter season here I am happy with the park system, the music scene, the food scene and the art scene. I love being outdoors, and have been an avid hiker, and sometimes backpacker, since childhood. All this time I've been a tent guy, MSR Hubba is my current love, but I've heard so much love regarding hammock camping that I had to start looking into it, and I have to say I'm intrigued.

I'll be doing Isle Royale this summer, and hopefully, also, a through hike of the SHT. I have the long term plan of section hiking the PCT, hopefully starting next year.

Welcome! You're in Shug's backyard. Superior Hiking Trail here comes the Zombie! I think there is a group hang in the works for Minnesota.

Welcome to HF from a fellow MN transplant. Just got here from Fl. in September and the winter is almost gone! You should try and make it out to the Northern hang. You'll learn a lot and meet some people with the same interests too.

Welcome to the forum, come on in the water's fine. Shug's videos and attending hangs are great ways to learn a lot. Pretty soon you'll view the ground as something that was made for just standing on.
    Good luck,

OHHH NOOO! Another addict has stepped up to the mike and he's a zombie!!! Rub I mean run!! No seriously, Welcome to the madness we call fun. It's a never ending quest for the perfect set up. What a Hobby! Ok to call you B Z for short?
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.
