    Newly Completed DIY UQ

I completed my DIY UQ tonight following the excellent "DIY KAQ Instructions". These instructions are very complete and easy to follow.

I went with a rectangular shape and no darts. The photo was taken just before I put in the quilting loops.

I really appreciate all I am learning from this forum. Thanks to all.

Nice work. I made mine rectangular too. Saved time and effort and I have no complaints.

Nice. Whoever put those KAQ directions together did a great job.
Can't wait to see pics of yours in action.

Looks like a very well made UQ, you should be very proud of it. What type of insulation did you use?. Is it full length or 3/4 length? Enjoy the UQ and report on how well it keeps you warm.

Thanks. It is a full length UQ. I planned for 78"x48", but it shrunk a couple of inches during construction.

It has 2 layers of 4 oz Primaloft. I didn't find the sources for Climashield until later.

Well done, and very similar to the one I tried that my son now will use. I too lost precious size in the production, hence being better for him. Keep up the good work!

Looks great! Haven't tried an UQ yet, but think that I'll set up the summer TQ that I'm making to also work as an UQ. How are you suspending it?

    Look forward to the report!

I still have to tweak the shock cord suspension, but there are instructions for it at the end of the DIY link in the my first post.

All four edges have channels. The long sides for the suspension and the end channels have shock cord to cinch them up snug to the hammock.
