    Tarp in Porch Mode Question

I like the idea of using my "soon to be shipped" Cat Tarp in "Porch Mode"

I am trying to remember the vendor that sold small Cuben triangles that went over Trekking poles and had a loop for guy lines.. any idea? Thanks

Just use a clove hitch around the trekking pole.

I just stick the pointed end of my pole through the eyelet on the tarp. Mines a OES and the D rings he uses only allows the lower half of the point to go through. The D ring stops about "mud head" (about 2.5") height on the pole tip. Works great

Yes, clove hitch or half hitch or just a couple wraps around the pole grip. Makes a nice place for the tenters to gather for happy hour, out of the rain.

My Hennessy Hex Fly has loops on the corners and I stick the tip of my poles through them.

Pan from JRB showed a bunch of us a neat way to use hiking poles for porch duty that keeps water from running into the pole at each extension joint. Put the point of the pole in the ground and the handle up. Run your tarp line beside the handle, then pull the pole's strap up outside the tarp line and put the strap loop over the top of the handle. Done. It works well.

I looked through 47 pages of tarp photos and only saw one example of using the pole this way but the picture only showed the bottom of the pole. Sorry.
