    I totally get it now!

    Hello all!

My name is Christina and I live in the beautiful Evergreen State. I actually heard about Hammockforums mentioned in another forum that I frequent and decided to check it out. I already do a lot of day hiking and want to get into backpacking so I'm trying to figure out all the gear that I want. Once I started poking around on here, I really felt that the hammock was the way to go!

I found a Grand Trunk hammock on-line at the REI-Outlet and just recently I bought the All-In-One whoopie sling suspension and I got to hang out in my backyard yesterday for the first time! What comfort!

Now, I need to figure out what I want for insulation and tarp.

    Glad to be here!
    Christina

p.s. AND, I have to give a shout out to Shug--your videos for hammock noobs totally ROCK! I have learned so much from them. Thank you!

Welcome Christina. Sounds like you are on the right track. I wish all this hammock gear was around when I started backpacking years ago. Have fun!

Welcome Bandanabraids from a fellow Washingtonian (yep, gave it away for those who didn't know what state was the Evergreen State was).

There are several of us around from Washington. We have a couple of gatherings coming up, including one or 2 in Oregon soon. We had one in the winter, and I can personally say that they are a great group of people. If you have any questions, feel free to ask or if you want to meet up, it's a great way to see what other people have to get a good judge on things before you buy.

Welcome to HF FROM the Evergreen State! If it's not too personal, where abouts this beautiful state are you?
You don't sleep on the ground at home, why would you expect me to out here?

Thanks everyone! I like the wide variety of places that people are from on this forum. Amazing:-)

Mindwalk and MaxM--I've spotted a few of us PNWers on here! I am in Marysville. I hope that I can come to a hang sometime, that would be cool. I always like to see other people's set ups because you can get such good ideas. I'm trying to get my husband interested in a hammock as well...we just need one nice warm day and I'm sure he'll be found hanging out snoozing.

If you haven't found it yet, there is a trip planning/group hang thread, it will keep you apprised of what is in the works. There are currently 2 planned out. One in Oregon, one on the peninsula. It shouldn't take much to get your husband jealous now!
