Meeting Red in person is just okay, but I think that meeting and greeting the entire "Oleary team" is far better...at least when Mrs. Oleary is present there is some form of intelligence there. IMHO

Looks like the weather may work out this weekend... What is needed in the way of permits and where do you pick them up... Gotta whip out one more hammock this week so I can test along with all the other new gear...
after you pass the ranger hut there will be the ranger station on the left prior to the main parking lot. they have self registry there, it was $10 for the yearly vehicle pass or $4. i think it's $12 per site for 4 people. make sure you put "blind lake" for the campsite. i think there was 5-6 campsites that allow 2 tents/4 people, the rangers are pretty cool and as long as we don't make noise we shouldn't have problems.
i guess we should get a meeting time so we can combine on fees?????
my plans for saturday have changed so i'll be there between noon and 1pm. i'm hiking in on the silver lake trail and then connecting with the poto trail. blind lake is not on the map as a campsite, it's done that for a reason. there are maps at every trail intersection so just follow those.
i should get there around noon as well but i am parking at halfmoon lake and taking the short route in with the kids.

I'm also going to park at Half Moon... Need to get back to town early Sunday so I need to shorten hike out...Should be there around noon WC if you wanna hike in together....
You still need to register at silver lake ranger station
will the station be open so i can get my window sticker? sure we can hike in together it sr. Is there any pot luck plan or is it every man for himself this time?
