Had a good hang over the weekend...

at my local woods. Friday was really wet here in London but we decided to go out anyway as the rain stopped and the next day was predicted to be nice. I wanted to test out some new gear (homemade hammock underblanket) and just to get out with a friend and retest older gear: Nomad's Land hammock, DD XL tarp, Blizzard Survival tube, coke can alcohol stove...

Had a great warm night despite the temp dropping down to 0 (UK not US) and having our breakfast nicked by a random dog that appeared.

    Here's the vid:

Great idea on the survival tube and the under blanket. Thanks for the video trip report.

I like the sheep skin UQ. Was it just lying around and you decided to do something with it? I was wondering about condensation with the survival tube. Good to see you had no issues.

I got the idea for the underblanket from a post over at BushcraftUK where someone had made one with a poncho as an outer. For a few pounds I thought I'd have a go at trying to make one and it was surprisingly easy.

The tube can have a slight bit of condensation at times. I think it depends on what airflow you have and the weather, body temperature etc. When there has been any it's a slight dampness on the bottom of the tube at the foot end. I guess the warm air from your body get cooler at this point as it's furthest away from your bodymass.
