I'll weigh mine, I am pretty sure that it is less then 3 lbs. Are you sure it is not the thicker "tarp like" version they made? All of the websites I've seen that list weight have it at 640 grams.

On a side note here is a pretty slick bridge hammock made from a DPM Basha...

I think the biggest issue for the OP would be the dimensions, unless you used it as a blind.

Heres a crazy thought. What if you got a muted color sil tarp and then hung a really lightweight camo netting over it?

Here is a pic of a British DPM Basha:

They pack up very small, and are very light. I can fit one in a water bottle pouch on my belt kit. It is not the biggest tarp, but it does conceal well.

A friend of mine did that only he used jute like you would use for a ghillie suit. Looked great, weighed a ton. I think I have a pic somewhere I'll try to find. He blended in great

Yep, the BCUSA Multicam tarp is heavier... something about the coating being different in order to make it FR. Made in the USA.

    MultiCam®

70D 1.9 oz nylon ripstop fabric

Urethane coating (1-1.25 oz per sq yd)

    Fire retardant

    IR compliant

Tabs: 16 perimeter and 3 ridge line

Weight (includes stuff sack): 2 lbs, 8.25 oz

I guess I should say that I have one of these and it's very nice... I took it out this weekend but never used it. If you need any better pics of it let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.

There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl

Thanks for the tip on this fabric. I just bought 10 yards of it. I'm planning to make at least an undershield and gear cover with it. And maybe a tarp.

I just found this DPM (looks like woodland) camo tarp out on eBay. It's from the UK and if I did the conversion right, weighs in at less than 15 oz.
