I'm coming back into backpacking after a long hiatus (10 years). Unfortunately, my return is occurring while funds are pretty tight, so I'm hoping to scrounge up some gear, and make some to keep the costs down. While I feel out the direction I want to go regarding weight and equipment, I'd like to find a pack under $75 just to kick around with a bit this summer.
I'm on the small side, 5'8" or so. I believe my last trip to REI my torso length was like 18".
If somebody has something gathering dust in a closet they might want to unload, I'd be interested in anything from 3,000cu in. on up.
