    Cool beans Hooch, thanks.

The price I quoted for mine was for a year ago, when the Polarguard 3D came in the kit. I'm not sure what the prices are now with Climashield, or whether they went up this year (or down), so treat that as a guess-timate.

AND I'm assuming they're using Climashield now, I haven't looked lately.

It'll be a great project for you.

I looked at these. One thing to keep in mind is the bulk generated by a huge synethic quilt. That and my fasanation with killing geese have kept me from trying it.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

The bulk is the only thing that has kept me from making one of the RayWay Quilts. But, my mind is set on long distance hikes....for now. For car camping or weekend jaunts through the woods, I think I'd rather have something like the RayWay that wouldn't cost me $349 to replace if bad things happened and still keep me warm.

I was wondering how small they were, when packed down.

I had this picture in my gallery:

Now that's a fat sack! Not 'phat', but fat.
Last time I saw something like that, I was in college and it sure didn't have a quilt in it.

It really does squish down farther if you stuff it way down in your pack... That picture is just it sitting all by itself trying hard to escape. I think that was the first time it had been bagged too.

I guess in your case size doesn't matter. You've turned out some big gear with such a girlie machine.
