I thought I read somewhere on the site (of course i cant find it now) that the blue colored amsteel bled some of its color a when handled and when wet. Can anyone confirm this and is this a problem with any of the other colors?

I use the gray color line and have noticed any bleed
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
The gray I use gets all over my hands when working with it, and I've definitely noticed some fading. It hasn't gotten wet yet, so I can't comment on the bleeding part.
For me the blue transferred alot more than other colors. The result is a case of smurf hands... I have switched to black which still transfers some but not as bad. I have not noticed any bleeding of the color when wet. Just transfer from handling / splicing etc...
I get some stain on my fingers when milking the bury.

If I had read this thread before my morning shower, I could have taken a picture for you. I spent the evening last night braiding stuff. Made a handful of paracord bracelets, necklaces, and keychains and a belt made with about 150' of blue Amsteel. In addition to my fingers hurting like heck, my hands were a dark blue when I was done with the Amsteel. I've never worked so much of it for so long and didn't expect the amount of transfer I got from it.
Yes, blue Amsteel bleeds.......like a stuck pig!
Trust nobody!
Working with hundreds upon hundreds of feet every day I can say yes all amsteel, lash-it, zing-it and dynaglide all bleed color dry or wet. The black amsteel is the worst but they all leave a slight residue behind if you work with enough of it. Quick warm water and soap scrub will take it off your hands easy. When only working with a few feet of line like in made up slings you should not get much on your hands....not enough to worry about while on a a trip.

Dyes don't work on amsteel, so the coloring is a coating that is somewhat waxy. I've found that the light gray rubs off the least, from the 3 colors I have used...
Yes, Blue definitely causes a case of the smurfs...

Thanks for the responses and the confirmation. I was planning on ordering a few feet and wanted to stay with the one that would probably bleed the least so it looks like the lighter the color the less the transfer.
To me, the grey and the yellow seem to have the least issues with bleed, but there will probably be still a little.
