The summer before I turned 16 (1989) I did a 21 day hiking trip from Wyoming to Montana with a resupply of food and clean clothes at day 11.

The summer before that (1988) was 14 days on Isle Royal... there was no resupply on this trip so maybe this is the longest..?

21 days without resupply, off track, down the heath and cameron mountains of Fiordland.

Other trips of note (only one of length - to Purseygur pt - with hammock - what do you do when many many days away from shelter if your hammock fails?) can be found at the blog in tristanriley.co.nz

Fall of 2006 I did my longest trip. 19 Continuous days. Back then, I was a ground dweller, didn't know hammock camping even existed and had a Bora 80 pack. My base weight was somewhere in the 50# range. I carried everything and the sink.

After that trip I couldn't eat ramen or oatmeal again for months.

Work & responsibilities nowadays keep me tied down and limit my treks to no more than 7 days, but most are 3-5 day trips.

Longest time without resupply was 12 days at a time during typical 30-day NOLS courses when I taught for the school from 2001-2003. Of course, that was before I began hammocking.

Longest hammock trip without a resupply while hammocking was last summer when I went 7 days before resupply.

So whats the difference between "resupply" and having pre-stashed "supplies" in the woods? That still means you aren't carrying everything wth you, foraging, or hunting...

Longest for me is 5 nights 6 days without resupply. I'd like to get out longer just havent had the chance yet
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

In my mind it's what you carry out with you, not what you have pre-stashed, because in reality that's like a refill.
I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've brought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
