Hello from Illinois

I am just starting out backpacking and while looking into shelters I decided to give the hammock a try. So far most of info I've been getting has been from the Southeastern Backpackers podcasts, who turned me on to Shug's videos. I just ordered a Skeeter Beeter the other day. Can't wait for it to come in so I can start playing with it. Meanwhile I made my first alcohol stove yesterday and heated up some left over spaghetti on it for lunch today. Well I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you, and maybe one day get out and hang with some of you.

Glad to have you here. I'm just a hop, skip and a jump north of you. 3 miles south of Rockford. We'll have to get together and learn how to hammock and make stoves together.
