welcome to the forum monkeybane!! i don't have any experience with hammock bliss gear, so no opinions here...apologies. it looks like those straps are made of nylon, so you may notice some stretch. like kermegan said, any first step is a good one! if you're like me, i suspect this forum will prod you into many more hammock-related purchases

hey Monkeybane363 and welcome to HF.
nylon stretches, especially when it gets wet. that's means when using nylon straps will over the course of the night your hammock will get closer to the ground and change the angle of hang. how much it will stretch depends on the nylon itself, the distance from tree to hammock attachment, moisture (dew or rain) and the force applied by weight. stretch can also make knots very difficult to un-tie. nylon is usable but polyprop is the preference due to it's very limited stretch.

Try your new straps before you go out and replace them. Problems like stretch are worse if they take you by surprise (as when you wake up with your butt on the ground in a puddle). Sometimes you can compensate ahead of time. Forewarned is forearmed.

    some answers.

Don't know about the hammock. Whoopie Slings, Straps and toggles are just about the lightest suspension. Alot of people on the forum use them. You can make your own whoopies there are many tutorials online. A standard ridgeline is 100", but it depends on you and your hammock. I tried one but it just didn't feel comfortable. Good luck!

    Welcome Monkeybane.

I just made my own whoopie slings and ridge line for about $10 and it only took 15 minutes so if you do decide to try them they are relatively cheap and easy. I also made my own toggles out of some carbon arrow shafts that I had lying around the house.

As to your hammock, I'm sure that it is a fine hammock if it is hung correctly. You will have to experiment a little to find the correct angle. Look at some of dejoha's illustrations for a starting point. They really helped me to improve my comfort.
