    Field Testing....

    Hey all!

I am just giving folks a heads-up on Hammock Gear's current status. I took Stormcrow down yesterday to the AT to start at Springer Mountain. Left him at mile 1 with hail and thunderstorms. Good omen?

After being the Fast and the Furious all last week, we were able to get quite a few prototypes completed of....oh wait.....not supposed to tell.....not just yet.... Anyway, he is taking a 3 week hike for field testing before we release anything.

In the meantime, I'll be running the show . No worries, folks, there will be no delays. Emails and production will not be slowing down. The only difference might be if you call in, I will let the voicemail pick up, then call back. Many of you know I am hard-of-hearing, so answering a call when I do not know a voice can sometimes leave you poor souls frustrated when you can't get a certain request or question understood. I will either email you back if I have your address, or Stormcrow has requested I forward any necessary voicemails to him so he can check it and call back from the nearest hostel. I apologize if it inconveniences anyone, but I'd rather you know now instead of waiting and wondering for a day or two. Thank you.

    HAPPY HANGING!!

Sounds like a great team! I think a hardcore 3 week AT testing goes to show how much dedication goes into your companies gear. People are willing to pay good money for tried and true gear...especially of the lightweight kind I wish you and SC well.

P.s. Will there be a return on your bulk down for sale? I made my DIY winter quilt with it and have been more than satisfied...hoping to make a 3S or summer UQ. I would like to spend my money on companies that have shown great customer service and prices...

Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!

Raul - just for you..... His pack weight for 3 weeks, including food and water, 11 pounds. (ok - 11 pounds and something ounces, I can't recall)

He just called me, extremely happy that his prototype setup performed seamlessly in the storms.

He really is dedicated, absolutely loves being obsessed with all this. The only thing he wishes is more time to come up with the designs he has swimming around in that head of his all the time. R&D time is quite precious around here.

Goose down will be back on the market in the next month or so. Thanks for the compliments! Best job I've ever had.
