    Z-Lite

Got a question on the actual temp a thermarest zlite will be good to... Im in northern minnesota and am wondering how cold i could take this down too? Was thinking id be fine in my dl warbonnet down to about 20 fareinheit with a good tq and the zlite...? Sound about right or am i way off? If it can go colder thats awesome! But i usually can tolerate a little more cold than most... I would be wearing good thermals/socks/hat etc... Any personal experience would be much appreciated!

I'm trying to remember exactly how cold I've taken mine, and I can't recall, but I'm thinking in the 35°F range. I'm a cold sleeper tho'.
    Good luck,

I would think 20 degrees might be pushing it, but if you're a warm sleeper then maybe.

The z-lite by itself might not do well, even at 30F. You'd need something like a SPE, or what not to cover a bit wider than this pad does, as the sides will get very cold at that temp. In itself, I would get 30-35F would do fine with this pad though. Might want to cut up an extra one to use along the sides of your torso and thighs at least.

My thoughts exactly... Pushing it for the pad and likely a problem for anything hanging off the pad

I've taken a z-lite and a cut up CCF pad down to 15 with my normal sleeping bag as a topquilt. (Appropriate clothing recommended).

If you go to Sgt. Rock's page, you can see a "wing pad" that he came up with. I used that as a guide. URL - http://hikinghq.net/hammock/wing_pad.html

I'm still new to this game, but it worked for me last weekend. You really need extra insulation underneath from your shoulders to your rear.

About 35 is my lower limit. I sleep fairly warm, and have been using the Z-lite for 5-6 years in my hammock. A small wool blanket under the pad will extend it into the 20's.
