    springs almost here

Well a big hello to all members,
Spring is just around the corner, and are our winter'ed bodies ready? We all should be health wise, but lets face the truth it has been a long and snowy winter.
I am givine everbody a reminder of last spring when we started hiking again and the foul language came out our mouth when we hit those first few hills.
We can beat that by getting in shape and we should have started by now,but it's not to late to start. This way the first few hikes wont be miserable in the sence that you are out of shape.
So if your doctor says it's ok for you to exercise then lets get going and you will have a more memorable trip the first few times out....

    Thanks for the PSA.

I really appreciate the sentiment, except for the fact that it snowed in NC today...

I know - snow in NC ! Makes it hard to tease my family back in WI about the great weather in Winston when it does that.

Did a 4km run on the ol' jogging track Sunday, talk about "Gettin' the carbon out"...

Good grief, its Tuesday and I can still barely walk

Oh well, better to get this sorted out now than day two in the bush....

I try to get in a mile a day, but it may be time to start adding some Stair-master time to the cardio portion of my gym schedule...KM(who is naturally still (thanks Newton!) but gets moving occasionally)

I had two large truckloads of sand delivered a few days ago. I'm using it to fill washouts around the property. Pushing wheelbarrows full of sand is a great way to get in shape. (Oh my aching back!)

Just had my doctor check-up. Surprisingly .... all was well and my cholesterol was only 1 point over where they want me. so .... I turned down meds and opt for more oatmeal.
